Thomas is a creative offensive midfielder and he's pretty strong in front of goal aswell. You'd might say that he's a bit of the same type as Michael Laudrup himself, but he's more physical and he works harder.

His preffered position is right behind 2 attackers, setting up goals and getting on the scoresheet himself sometimes. He's also capeable of playing on both wings, preferably the left one, though. I'm pretty sure he's right-footed, but he's decent with both feet. He's not a threat from the distance, he's more likely to try and walk the ball all the way over the line. He's very good at setting up fellow players - an assist-maker you'd might call him.

He's a very talented player, very offensive in his approach to the game, always "thinking forward". Personally I'm a bit dissapointed with his development, would have thought that he'd be better today, but he's still a skilled player and he's still got some years to reach a higher level.

Ehm, Kopenhagen is not Brøndby. Brøndby lost gold. U should try to never mix up those 2 clubs, it's like mixing up Dortmund and Schalke 04 :P

Ich überlasse es den Jungs dir eine Antwort auf deine Fragen über Thomas Kahlenberg. Sie wissen bestimmt viel mehr als ich über den Thomas.
Trotzdem möchte ich euch gratulieren, wenn es euch gelingt den Unterschrifft von Thomas zu bekommen.
Alle mochten ihm, er war sehr populär hier in Brøndby. Und die Experten haben eigentlich meistens Gutes über ihm geschrieben.
So also- Viel Glück und grüsse ihm wilkommen in Wolfsburg- wenn/falls er kommt :-)
Der Beitrag über meine heisst frei übersetzt "Ihr schuldet uns noch Geld für Peter Madsen". Ich glaube aber er meint es nicht so ernst :-)

I am a bit uncertain, if Kahlenberg would fit very well into the Bundesliga. Maybe he would be better suited for the Spanish or the Dutch league. But I also must admit that I have not followed him very closely since he left Brøndby. Other than that I agree with the posts from Quite and Sydjyden, and I want to add that he has a very humble and sympathetic personality.

Most of all I want to congratulate you on the German Championsship, though. And what a fantastic way to secure it with a 5-1 win at home against Werder Bremen in the last round. I am sure you had a great party. Good luck in the Champions League.

If rumors are correct that Misimovic is leaving I think in Kahlenberg you will find a great replacement. They play the same position and has many of the same qualities including passing, vision and ball control. It is interesting though if Kahlenberg has the mentality to play in the bundesliga...

"You and whose army?"

First of all congratulations! I'm perplexed that in so short time little Wolfsburg has beaten the Bayern so completly. Wonderful ^-^

I'd have loved to answer you in german, but my "schriftliche" is too bad now 2 years after my lerning ended.

But "Kalle" als Kahlenberg is called is an excellent footballer. He started out on right wing, became central offensive midfielder for a time, were he really came up with some magic, but in the end he ended on left wing.

He has his nose always towards the goal, and became our topscorer one season. But our national coach once in a while use him in the central midfield, there his not wonderful, but he works.

The great thing about Kalle is that he can play so many places, but no. 10 is his favorite position. In his time in Auxerre his has been somewhat dameged by injuries and sometimes has periods of bad form, but when he gets things moving, he is a driving force. I think he is best compared to Iniesta in Barcelona, but is also somewhat like der Vaart and Sneijder, but just a notch below their class...

Unlike some other no. 10's he really fights. Always tries to do that last and decisive pass, and he often succeeds :) He runs at the right time, and his skills in dripling are perfect.

When the national team is selected he is in the group of players, that may has a 50-60 percent chance of beeing on the picth from the start.

I miss him here in Brondby, but I think Wolfsburg is a great place for him. A good club that has come from behind without many expertations. A young team with plenty of potential. Just like Thomas himself in the beginning.

Don't use him as central midfielder, as much of his creative force will be lost. Good luck both to you and Thomas!
